The biggest and best online organ concerts listing site up to now was run by Stephen Smith, and the organ world owes him a huge debt of gratitude. Understandably though, he decided earlier this year that he wanted to retire from the relentless work of updating and servicing the site, and he has now closed it down. However this did leave a big hole: both for people wanting to find an organ concert, and people wanting to publicise their own events.
Now Roger Wilcox has taken up the challenge, and has started a new organ recitals listing site: organrecitals.uk
He says ‘I went to many recitals and concerts that I only became aware of thanks to Stephen’s website. I hope in turn to help people appreciate the architecture, location and music that are provided by organ concerts and recitals around the UK.’
