For all you organ geeks out there (you know who you are) here’s a starter list of appropriate web links:  though perhaps I should say aspiring organ geeks, because true geeks will have found these sites and more already (in which case please tell me about them!)

MOISSON D’ORGUES, site d’Alain Barbier
Thousands (yes) of organ pictures from around the world, organized by geographic area.  In French, but don’t let that put you off – it’s not difficult to find your way around the site.

L’Orgue et ses Buffets (Organ Cases of the World)
Another great site for organ pictures, sent in by enthusiasts around the world, and organized by Didier Berthelot.  Links to further organ pictures on Flickr.  (Instructions in both French and English.)
(Update 2019 – site no longer available)

National Pipe Organ Register (NPOR)
Detailed specifications of over 31,000 organs in Britain, with occasional pictures and sound clips.  Check out the organ you’ve just been asked to play – really useful site for any organist.

OHS Pipe Organ Database
The US equivalent of NPOR – online catalog of pipe organs within the US:  including all those that have been built in North America and installed there or abroad.  Constantly being updated – currently 51,000 database entries including 14,000 photographs.

Pipedreams
Website of US public radio programme celebrating the pipe organ with extensive archives for online listening – and lots more pictures! – of organs from around the world.

Bolhol-Loay Holy Trin Phpines Harvey Smoller
Holy Trinity Parish Church, Bohol-Loay, Philippines from l’orgue et ses buffets/Harvey Smoller
